Images of Historical Upper Skagit Valley

Travelers and packers desiring to go up river beyond
Marblemount had to negotiate some pretty tricky traverses of the
narrow canyon. This is a photo of the famous Devil's Elbow, with
its precariously perched cantilevered boardwalk leading around
the protruding rock face, perched above the roaring Skagit River
below. Today one travels thru a short tunnel drilled through the
hard rock at this point.

Would you buy a used chamber pot from this man? An un-named
traveling salesman showing off some of his goods for sale to his
up-river clientele.
